Compliance captured as the work happens

Ready for Digital Waste Tracking
Records that stand up to an audit
Fitted to real rounds

EWC codes and consignment numbers, handled
Full support for European Waste Catalogue codes and SEPA consignment numbers, with waste recorded against multiple container types, so regulatory and customer requirements are met in the same entry.

Quantities recorded as they're collected
Not every collection is the same. Drivers enter the actual quantity collected on the mobile app, and the office receives live updates, with notifications the moment an issue is logged.

Photos attached to every collection
Drivers capture multiple photos during collections, attached automatically to customer receipts and waste records, so proof of collection exists before the vehicle leaves the site.

Waste transfer notes that write themselves
Fully customisable waste transfer notes generate automatically, attach to delivery receipts and email to customers after each service, with the documentation consistent on every round.

Two apps for the new rules
Digital Waste Tracking Collections covers the carrier side of the rollout, and the Digital Waste Tracking Receivers App covers permitted sites taking waste in, so both ends of a movement are recorded digitally.

Reports ready for the regulator
Driver waste totals, summary reports and consignment note totals, exported in common formats for audits, analysis and regulatory submissions.

Digital Waste Tracking questions.
What is digital waste tracking? +
Digital waste tracking is the UK government service that replaces paper waste transfer notes and hazardous waste consignment notes with digital records of every waste movement, reported to Defra. It becomes mandatory for waste receiving sites from October 2026 and for waste carriers, brokers and dealers from October 2027.
When does digital waste tracking become mandatory? +
Receiving sites must use the service from October 2026 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and from January 2027 in Scotland. Waste collectors, meaning carriers, brokers and dealers, follow from October 2027, with beta access opening to collectors before the deadline.
Is Service Manager ready for digital waste tracking? +
Yes. Waste collection data in Service Manager is structured to map to Digital Waste Tracking fields, and we're preparing for the Defra API ahead of the mandatory dates. Existing customers will meet the requirements without changing how their rounds run day to day.
Does Service Manager produce waste transfer notes? +
Yes. Customisable waste transfer notes generate automatically after each service, attach to the delivery receipt and email to the customer, with consignment totals available in reporting. Your duty of care documentation stays complete without anyone filling in a pad.
Do washroom and hygiene companies need digital waste tracking? +
Yes. Sanitary, nappy and washroom waste is controlled waste, so the companies collecting it are waste carriers under the rules. If your business collects controlled waste, digital records become mandatory for you from October 2027, and the receiving sites you deliver to go digital a year earlier.
